HOW TO PLAY

1. Everybody starts each match with 10 rubbers. Nothing carries over from one match to the next, and nothing is bought or sold.
2. One rubber is dropped on the floor to start.
3. On your turn, put your finger on the rubber in your hand and swipe towards where you want it to go. Swipe faster to throw further.
4. Before the match you pick one thing: if you chop, do you throw again or pass the turn? It's locked until the match ends.
5. If your rubber lands on top of other rubbers, crossing over them, you capture them. Just touching the edge doesn't count. Everything stays on the floor for a few seconds so both of you can check it really touched.
6. The compound walls bounce your rubber back, so throwing too hard won't park it neatly in a corner.
7. Miss, and your rubber stays on the floor for anybody to win.
8. Run out of rubbers and you borrow one from your opponent for every throw. Capture before they do and you pay back: all your debt if you caught enough, otherwise half of what you caught.
9. If your opponent captures while you still owe them, you lose.
10. If you both run out, pick up from the floor and keep playing. No debt.
11. Challenge a friend with a code, or tap Quick match for a stranger. You each play on your own phone, and the server is the referee: nobody can fake a chop.
12. The one who makes the match picks the rule and the floor. Their friend sees both before accepting, and the friend throws first. A floor is the host's home ground, so say no if you don't fancy it. Quick match always uses the standard floor.
13. You get about 20 seconds a throw. If your phone drops, the match waits 60 seconds for you to come back.
14. Every win in a real match adds one to your total on the Lagos Life leaderboard. Practice doesn't count.
